HEALTH - Scientists have claimed, fat deposits in the buttocks and hip area can actually make women healthier, including the effect on heart health. While abdominal fat is associated with increased blood pressure and type 2 diabetes.
A study in the International Journal of Obesity involving 27,000 people found that a larger hip circumference were associated with risk of heart attack and heart disease is lower.
It is believed that 'adipose tissue' found around the buttocks to prevent cholesterol leading to heart.
Boffins at Oxford Univeristy say, people with buttocks, thighs, and hips are more obese may have lower cholesterol.
The main researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos added, "Fat around the hips and thighs is good for you but around the tummy fat is very bad for the health."
