Fifi even immediately received cases are quite severe, that a pregnant woman who experienced symptoms of eclampsia or high blood pressure.

"Later that night I called the people because there are women who complain of headaches, swelling in the legs and face. At that time there was no midwife there was only one male nurse, "said Fifi to Kompas.com.

As a midwife who had just graduation, Fifi claims still lack experience dealing with women with eclampsia. He also rely on the theory. On the island famous as a tourism destination in the world that there is a health center (sub) Komodo.

However, health facilities and drug supplies are still limited when it was empty. Certainly not yet possible to handle severe cases.

However, pregnant women and their families are not immediately willing to be consulted. In fact, the situation is an emergency and need a quick decision.

"Habits of the people of Komodo it if asked to refer to the most difficult Labuan Bajo. Had to use the ultimate weapon, like a seduction and a little scare scare. Ha-ha-ha, "said Fifi.

After explaining the dangers that can be experienced by pregnant women if not immediately assigned, the family agreed to bring pregnant women to Labuan Bajo.

In the middle of the road, the pregnant mother suddenly convulsions. Fifi on the boat continued to pray that soon reached Labuan Bajo.

During the 11 months Fifi became a midwife in that area. Until finally, he again got new placements in 2013 and it was in his native land, the village of Komodo. Komodo community warmly welcomed the presence of Fifi back.

Three days ahead of wedding

When you start to practice again in his hometown, Fifi is still often confronted with situations thrilling. One of the most difficult experiences he forget is when dealing with an emergency, three days ahead of time contract illegitimate.

That evening, April 2016, there is the mother gave birth to the placenta left inside the womb. The mother was bleeding profusely. At that time, Fifi was only accompanied by a midwife miRNA which is an honorary midwife.

"I had to do manual placenta but did not succeed, the state of the mother is getting worse," said Fifi.

Again Fifi should refer the mother to Labuan Bajo. However, Fifi mother forbade his son to go to Labuan Bajo. The reason, "taboos" bride to travel far

"My answer was a brief moment, I promise I will continue to stand in the aisle next 2 days," said the woman was born May 8, 1992.

Finally, at around 12 o'clock at night, Fifi and midwives Mirna travel to Labuan Bajo. The trip was not as smooth as imagined.

Pregnant women are experiencing severe bleeding until the boat in which they were filled with blood spills. Naasnya again, the boat engine suddenly died in the middle of the ocean waves.

"I increasingly do not cry, I was afraid that if his mother could not be saved," the story of Fifi.

While holding the cold wind that sip into his body, Fifi could imagine a wedding dress maroon color to be worn in two days.

Half an hour later, the boat engine finally back in operation. They arrived in Labuan Bajo at dawn is still dark and cold. Not in vain, the mother survived after should get a lot of blood transfusions. The baby is healthy and is now 7 months old.

100 per cent of deliveries in health facilities

In his hometown, Fifi actively running some program options. One of them is labor in health care facilities should be 100 percent.

This is an attempt to reduce maternal mortality and infant. Fifi program also could reap the pros and cons of habit pregnant women there prefer to give birth at home.

"I am aware, to change their way of thinking is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. Gradually I Alhamdulillah program a success, not because of me, but because of public awareness is getting better, "said Fifi which is currently 7 months pregnant.

Within three years, Fifi managed to make pregnant women no longer give birth at home. He also often do counseling and the homes of women with risk pregnancies.

Until recently, he was the only midwife civil servants on the island. Sometimes he assisted one or two other midwives working volunteers. No nurse, let alone a doctor on the island of Komodo.

Sometimes, they also help address a variety of diseases that people complain about. In fact, there are occasional Caucasian patients who are foreign tourists around the island of Komodo.

Yes, their hometown or village of Komodo lies precisely in that no other Komodo Island is also home to more than 1000 animals dragons. In the past, dragons still roam freely in residential areas.

However, after many public events were bitten dragons, residential areas have been fenced to keep dragons can enter.

Born and raised on the island of Komodo makes Fifi much looking forward to the progress of the village. He wants society dragons can always get clean drinking water and have the land for gardening so they can eat fresh vegetables without having to go far away to Labuan Bajo.

The people can be healthier and more aware of the importance of a clean and healthy lifestyle. He also wanted the children in the village of Komodo can enjoy education and better health.
