HEALTH - Number of people living with HIV / AIDS in Salatiga continues to grow. During 2016 to november recorded 17 new cases of HIV.
Secretary of the National AIDS Commission (KPA) Salatiga, Siti Zuraidah said, most of the findings of the HIV cases found in the group of people who have sex are at risk or have multiple partners without using condoms.
"Most are heterosexual or multiple partners," said Siti Zuraidah, on the sidelines of the commemoration of World AIDS rate in Salatiga on Friday (12/02/2016).
With the increase in new cases, he added, the total of people living with HIV / AIDS in Salatiga in 2016 has reached 230 people. "In 2015 the figure reached 213 people," he added.
According Zuraidah, despite the increase, but the numbers are still practically stagnant. It has made efforts together with the health center and the community peer. The key is that they are infected always get an inspection.
"Cases of HIV / AIDS is like an iceberg. Found (cases) or not, is increasing," he said.
Based on data from the latest findings, he added, in addition to the housewife, most people with HIV are people who often have multiple partners.
